EMC CIO Connect 2016: Onwards and Upwards

Habib Mahakian, Vice President, Gulf & Pakistan, EMC

In a world that is rapidly becoming digital, everything we do has a digital footprint, which is both challenging and exciting! At this year’s annual EMC CIO Connect event, EMC will lead the discussion on exploring digital transformation, including the mega-trends of big data, cloud computing and flash.

EMC has officially declared 2016 as “The Year of All Flash for Primary Storage” and is excited to bring VIP executives and IT thought leaders together to explore this concept of digital transformation. The annual CIO Connect will be held at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi from 24-26 May 2016.

Flash is disruptive, fundamentally changing the way we approach storage design. Flash is an enabler, enabling technology evolution that was unthinkable just a few short years ago, and transforming the modern data center. EMC’s vision for 2016 is ambitious and empowering.

CIO Connect will focus on how to build a digital transformation strategy and make IT a business enabler. Delegates will learn various ways that EMC can help their business deliver increasingly desirable business outcomes and redefine what is possible. Some of the revolutionary topics and presentations EMC will cover include:

  • Applications & Database
  • Big Data Storage & Analytics
  • Software Defined Data Centre
  • Security & Compliance
  • Virtualisation & Cloud Computing
  • Hybrid Cloud
  • Plus much more…

This dilemma of how enterprises can achieve digital transformation is front and center at CIO Connect. The expectation of a frictionless customer experience has now reached new levels of sophistication and urgency, while protecting existing investments and maintaining a cost effective running IT operation is still paramount.

EMC will share aspirational ideas on how to invest in new areas of growth, deliver rich experiences, and meet escalating expectations—all the while reducing the cost of infrastructure and apps.

In 2016, we are at an inflexion point where we now have technology economics that allow us to build solutions for primary data use cases that bring all flash storage infrastructures close to that of hybrid or HDD based infrastructure costs. We believe that it is now more economical than ever to deploy primary storage systems with 100% flash.

EMC looks forward to welcoming VIP delegates from the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and Pakistan to CIO Connect who share a common interest in addressing digital transformation. For more information and updates from the conference, follow us on Twitter @EMCMiddleEast
